OUR CURRENT OPERATIONS

The New Life Band maintains a very active and involved office in Arusha where the administrative, financial, and implementation functions of their work takes place. Specific areas of their current operations are as follows:

Fully Equipped Recording Studio

The new life band has developed a fully equipped recording studio within their office complex in Arusha. Through this recording studio, they are able to produce tape recordings and CD's for themselves, Christian music groups and individuals, and others who may wish to engage their recording expertise and their recording equipment. For their latest CD, they have written and recorded all of their music in their own studio. Having a quality recording studio provides potential income to support their Mission to Youth and Students as well as saving them time and money to do this elsewhere.

Currently, the electrical power situation is very difficult in Tanzania. There are vast shortages of electricity and many power outages. Furthermore, the lack of fiber optic cables, and in many areas, and even telephone lines, makes internet communications very challenging. However, in the future, as electrical power reliability improves, and as wireless high speed internet becomes more widely used, it is expected that their tape, CD and typical music "downloading" ministry will become more wide spread and very popular. The New Life Band is well positioned to be the forefront of future mass music trends and developments in Tanzania. It is expected that, in the future, the recording, composing and distributing of African Christian music will become a major part of their ministry to young people.

Youth Camps

For many years, the New Life Band has been running Youth Camps. The camps are usually held at school facilities during their vacation or holiday periods when the entire school, including sleeping and boarding facilities, can be used for the camps. The camps are usually held twice a year, and generally have about 1000 young people coming together for one week of seminars/training/meetings on the prevailing issues of daily life. Through such camps, the Mission to Youth and Students, New Life Band, has realized the extent of needs of young people in Tanzania. Biblical teachings, counseling, family life education, relationships, career development, responsibility and accountability are the subjects which are taught and discussed in the camps. They are taught and facilitated by professionals and competent specialists from outside and inside the country who are always invited to minister to these camps.

Ministry to Schools and Colleges

The New Life Band frequently gives concerts and dramas through schools and college both inside and outside the country. Their innovative programs are geared toward the age group of the students and include a wide range of both religious and ethnic music. They are extremely talented musicians, easily able to reach out and engage young people through their wide range of music, from traditional African drum rhythms, close harmonies, to modern western style instruments with an African flare.

Concerts and Outdoor Rallies

Increasingly, the New Life Band has been participating in very large concerts and outdoor rallies often involving speakers and evangelists from both inside and outside the country. They typically have been able to reach as many as 600,000 people per year through these outdoor concerts and open air meetings and rallies, with people often walking for many miles to be in attendance.

It has been said by many preachers and those who have organized these events that "When you want powerful and anointed singing and you want many people to come, invite the New Life Band!"

Recently, the New Life Band has started a "gospel concert" ministry that will be going around the country, and they have trained a mass choir from 4 different denominations in Arusha. They expect this new area of multi denominational ministry to strengthen their relationships with local churches and expand their efforts to minister to youth throughout the country.
